Buffalo Trace Distillery Flood: Impact and Recovery

In early April 2025, the historic Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, experienced severe flooding due to unprecedented rainfall, with some areas receiving over 15 inches. The Kentucky River crested at 48.24 feet, marking the second-highest level in the city's history. This resulted in significant portions of the distillery campus being submerged, leading to a temporary shutdown of operations.

National City Liquor's Response

At National City Liquor, located in National City, California, we understand the importance of supporting our partners during challenging times. While we are geographically distant from Buffalo Trace Distillery, we stand in solidarity with them and other businesses affected by the flooding.

Supporting Affected Distilleries

In the past, Buffalo Trace Distillery has demonstrated resilience and community spirit in the face of natural disasters. Following the Eastern Kentucky floods in 2022, they organized auctions of rare and collectible whiskeys, raising significant funds for disaster relief efforts.

Looking Ahead

As Buffalo Trace Distillery continues its recovery, we remain committed to providing our customers with a diverse selection of spirits, including offerings from Buffalo Trace. We encourage our patrons to support affected distilleries by choosing their products, thereby contributing to their ongoing recovery and success.
